far
Busted auditions: London.
Tom Fletcher was 15 when he auditioned for Busted.
He narrowly missed out on the third, and final place to Charlie Simpson but became close friends with James Bourne. Together
they wrote a number of songs for Busted, and James introduced Tom to his management and record company.
McFLY auditions: London
Three new members of McFLY were soon introduced:
Danny Jones (18), who became a third songwriter with Tom and James, Dougie Poynter (16) and Harry Judd.
The Room on the 3rd Floor
For three months McFLY stayed in a room on the
3rd floor of a London hotel before they signed their record deal. There they wrote their entire debut album, and called it
Room on the Third Floor. Once they got their record deal with Island Records they moved into a house in London!
For the record... McFLY are now in the Guinnes
Book of World Records - they are the YOUNGEST BAND to reach number 1 in the UK single and album charts!
So far, McFLY have had 3 top 3 singles (2 of
which went straight to number 1), a number 1 album, have performed a sell-out tour across the UK, and are about to release
a fourth single, Room on the Third Floor on the 15th November!!
